During book club we were asked questions. The first question was "are you satisfied with the ending". I did really enjoy this book but I was not really satisfied with the ending, during the book Griffin and Cheyenne’s relationship seemed to be getting stronger, and I really thought by the end of the book, they would have stronger feelings for each other like really liking each other. I also thought that somehow, Cheyenne would regain her sight after everything. It would have been better in my opinion; as well the end of the book sort leaves you in question of what is going to happen.
"How do you feel about how Griffins mom died?" I was really surprised about how Griffins mom died, all those years Griffin thought his mom hated him and left him, but his father actually killed her. I don't know how I would of felt knowing i thought someone hated me and left but in reality was killed. He must have gone through so much having to deal with the fact that he thought his mom hated him, she didn’t, and she was just killed.
"Do you think being in a rural area made it harder or easier to escape? Why?" I think it made it harder, since Cheyenne is blind, it would make it a whole lot harder for to escape and find her somewhere safe to get, and even the fact of there being wild animals. It can also sort of be easier, most kidnappers tend to take their captives to a more hidden area, like forests so you can sort of expect her to have been there, or be the first place to look for her.
"What stands out to you about the novel? Maybe characters/plot/setting/messages." What really stood out to me in this book was the character Griffin, he had caused the problem of accidentally kidnapping Cheyenne and he was the one to help her escape, he was protecting her from Jimbo and Tj, who were trying to do things to her, and also from his dad who might have just killed her. Even though Griffin thought he was a horrible person, he wasn't, he knew that keeping Cheyenne would just cause more problems and asking for ransom would have made things bad, Cheyenne could have died in the end if it wasn't for Griffin.
